Termite Inspections Wollondilly

A termite inspection is the first step in termite management

As the historic administrative centre of Wollondilly, Picton boasts a rich heritage with many beautiful older homes, some dating back to the 19th century, alongside newer developments. It’s characterised by its leafy streets, the scenic Stonequarry Creek, and proximity to bushland. The diverse age and construction types of properties, coupled with established gardens, create a complex termite landscape.

Picton is often talked about as being the hub of the Wollondilly Shire. The Wollondilly Shire Council has its council chambers and administration here as well as the works depot. Recently the Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre ( The Pac to locals) has opened and is attracting quality bands, comedians and other performers allowing Picton and Wollondilly locals to see talent here unlike in previous years when travelling to Sydney was often the only option.

Pestgo has been carrying out termite and Pest Control in all areas of the Wollondilly since its inception. From Bargo to Warragamba Pestgo services all townships in the Shire. We offer all pest services and specialise in Termite control.

Termites found during an inspection in Picton near Tahmoor

The termite in the image to the left is a Coptotermes Spp termite and is the most common type of termite found in Picton and surrounds. This Species of termites is known to be the most destructive and prevalent in the area.

Thankfully in the pest management industry this is a termite that we know very well and so have much information through extensive research, there are well known behavioral patterns, damage and treatment methods.

Tahmoor, Thirlmere and Picton have this species in common along with other generally less damaging termites.

At Pestgo we have treated thousands of homes  affected by these termites and have great success in ensuring they stay out.

Coptotermes spp termites will in generally nest in a large eucalypt but in urban areas can occasionally be found in other harbourages with one nest in Picton being found in a cupboard in a house.

When we carry out an inspection of a property we always take care to thoroughly check trees, stumps, landscaping timbers etc to detect evidence of termite activity or nesting. The exterior and yard is as important to check as the interior.
